Nowadays, we can see some boys and girls who live in a small world of theirown. They bury themselves among books and are proud of themselves. They thinkthat it will make them lose their face if they do housework for they often thinkthemselves very noble.
These young people are wrong. In my opinion every student should h***e aknowledge of housework. After all, they will h***e a family of their own, andthey should do their part in keeping a good home. Boys should also learn to dohousework, for what will they do if they remain single? Though not all boysremain single, yet they will be very helpful in the family if they know somehousework. Anyhow they will not lose anything, but, on the contrary, they willgain something useful.
For what I said above, we can find some examples of our fellow-studentsstudying abroad. All young men do housework as girls do. Someone would arguethat we can employ servants. This is true. However, what shall we do if theservant le***es us and all things are left to ourselves? We just cannot le***e ourclothes as they are and let worms and ants eat them up. And what can we do it wego and study in a foreign country where servants are out our means toemploy?
We must work for ourselves. Why not start to learn to do housework now orelse it will be too late?Everyone should learn to do housework. What do youthink about my idea?
In the past in America, children were valuable workers. For example, theyhelped on the arm or in the family business in order to bring in money. Just acouple of generations later, attitudes h***e changed. Now children are hardlyexpected to work at all. Modern children often don’t even do chores. This issad, because I think that they are missing something if they don’t help out athome. Sharing in household tasks benefits children of all ages.
First of all, household tasks build skills. Very young children learn motorskills and classification skills when they pick up their toys and put them away.Talking about how to do things helps them learn to analyze situations. Olderchildren learn skills they’ll need as an adult. Cleaning and cooking may seemdull, but knowing how to do them well makes life a lot easier. How many youngadults le***e for college unable to do their own laundry or cook anything besidesa frozen microw***e dinner? It’s amazingly common.
When everyone in a family helps out, the family is happier. Nowadays it’scommon for both parents to work . when they come home, they h***e more work todo. Life is stressful and there’s no time for fun. By sharing household tasks,everyone gains. Children can help their parents with simple tasks such aspicking up their own rooms, putting away their own laundry, starting dinneroccasionally, or taking care of younger siblings. Then the family can relaxtogether, and parent won’t feel like servants to their “couch potato”offspring.
The most important thing children learn from helping with household tasksis responsibility. Handling everyday tasks teaches organization and timemanagement skills. Children learn that chores h***e to be completed before theycan play, or before they get their allowances. Children who understand thateffort pays off will be more successful later in life.
Kids should not work all the time. A happy life needs balance. But if theycan successfully handle tasks at home, they will handle life better too. Theywill know the satisfaction of doing a good job, be involved in family life, andbecome more confident and responsible adults.
